Rep. John Joyce

Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives

  • In Congress, Congressman John Joyce, M.D. served as the Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce before being named the Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. 

    Congressman John Joyce also serves as Co-Chair of the House GOP Doctors’ Caucus.  Since arriving on Capitol Hill, Congressman Joyce has prioritized and championed legislation and initiatives focused on delivering affordable, quality healthcare in rural communities, lowering energy prices, and expanding access to high-speed internet across South Central Pennsylvania.

Tom Kemp

  • Before his role at CalPrivacy, Tom was a Silicon Valley-based tech entrepreneur, co-founder, and CEO. Tom was a full-time volunteer on the 2020 campaign to pass the California Privacy Rights Act and has since advised on significant tech policy legislation across the country, including the Delete Act (SB 362), the AI Transparency Act (SB 942), and bills in Texas, Nebraska, Vermont, and Washington. He has been recognized for his policy contributions by both the California and Texas State Senates. Tom is the author of Containing Big Tech: How to Protect our Civil Rights, Economy, and Democracy. Tom holds bachelor's degrees in computer science and history from the University of Michigan.

After, Alan helped develop DoubleClick’s research product suite and founded Chapell & Associates in October of 2003.

Prior to joining Swoop, Ben served as Deputy General Counsel for Real Chemistry, and prior to that as Senior Counsel for Publicis Groupe Re:Sources, supporting companies under the Publicis Media division. Ben ensures that Swoop remains at the forefront of AI and digital audience engagement in a privacy enhancing and compliant way. Ben holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University.

    Megan works closely with NAI members to evaluate practices, strengthen compliance, and advance responsible data use. She leads the Privacy Review Program, identifying priority areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with the NAI Self-Regulatory Framework. Megan brings a distinguished legal background in privacy and data protection to her role at the NAI, following her tenure as an attorney in the FTC’s Division of Privacy and Identity Protection. At the FTC, she led high-impact investigations into privacy and data security across digital platforms, including the advertising space.

    Ken Dreifach sits on the NAI board on behalf of AdRoll, the retargeting and prospecting platform. Since 2000, Ken has served in a variety of high-profile roles in the digital advertising landscape: as a regulator, General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer, and currently as outside counsel to numerous NAI members and other web-based, mobile, and data services companies.

Van Antwerpen in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Rob brings expertise in data governance, privacy, and technology to DeepIntent. Rob has a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from Wake Forest University.

Nick received his J.D. from the American University Law School and most recently worked as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge Laura A. Cordero at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. While in law school, Nick interned with the Federal Communications Commission and served as a student attorney with the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Law Clinic. Prior to law school, Nick spent over five years working in the AdTech industry.

    Jason works with the NAI team in conducting the NAI’s annual privacy reviews of member companies, and assists onboarding of new members. He received his J.D. from Northeastern University. While in law school, ha interned at Ascend Learning and the Future of Privacy Forum, where he gained experience in key privacy and compliance issues. At FPF, he worked on projects analyzing legislative developments, privacy risks in emerging technologies and Global Privacy Control mechanism. His work at Ascend Learning included research and audits on marketing practices such as session replay technology and children’s advertising, supporting the development of compliant and ethical privacy practices.

  • Paul Taske

    Paul oversees and manages operations across NetChoice’s lawsuits to defend free expression and free enterprise from government overreach. His expertise spans everything from First Amendment and constitutional law to Section 230 and privacy regulations.

    Paul worked at the Supreme Court of Ohio for Justice Pat DeWine. He also worked as a Junior Fellow for the Ayn Rand Institute, where he wrote a host of articles about constitutional issues, including the Equal Rights Amendment and Covid-19 measures. While in law school, he wrote as a Student Contributor for Emeritus Professor Marianna Bettman’s Legally Speaking Ohio, which provided commentary on cases pending before the Supreme Court of Ohio.

    Kate has responsibility for the Divisions of Marketing Practices, Privacy and Identity Protection, Financial Practices, and several regional offices. She had previously held numerous roles at the Commission, including as a senior attorney in the Division of Privacy and Identity Protection, as Counsel to the Director of BCP, and as an Attorney Advisor to Commissioner Noah Phillips. Kate also served two details to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation where she provided advice to Senators, staff, and stakeholders on a variety of consumer protection and privacy issues. Immediately prior to her current role, Kate spent two years as a partner at a law firm where she focused her practice on consumer protection and privacy issues.
